I am a playwright, educator, and children’s author based in North Jersey.

I have written twelve published children’s books with combined sales over half a million copies. Popular titles include Reading Rainbow selection How Many Stars in the Sky? and The Seals on the Bus, a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year. I have visited numerous schools, libraries, and bookstores, sharing my books with kids and leading them in writing workshops.

Until my recent retirement I taught English, ran the Drama Club, and developed the Creative Writing curriculum at Bergenfield High School in New Jersey. Before my service as an educator, I was a longtime children’s editor for Dial, then Morrow/Tambourine.
